YASHWANT DESHMUKH
Born in Akola district of Maharashtra in 1963, Yashwant Deshmukh is, currently based in Mumbai.
Completed his Bachelor of Fine Art from Sir. J. J. School Of Art, Mumbai (1983-88). In 1993, he won Bendre- Husain Scholarship Award, Mumbai. In 2001 he was invited to participate at the "3rd Biennial Bose Pacia Modern Prize," The Exhibition Of Paintings Organized By Bose Pacia Modern, New York (USA). His works were showcased as part of group show 'The India art show 2006’ curated by Kalpana Shah at The Chapel Gallery, Singapore.

Among his major solo shows are the ones at Gallery Jean Cocteau, Alliance Francaise de Bombay, in association with Cymroza Gallery, Mumbai (1996); Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (1997, 2003); at Bombay Art Gallery, Mumbai (2005).

He has participated in a number of group shows, including 'Seven For Seven' – exhibition of paintings by seven International artists, sponsored by Gallery-7, Hong Kong (1994); '50 years of Art In Mumbai' organized by the National Gallery Of Modern Art, Mumbai (1997); participate 'The miniature Format show by Sans Tache Art Gallery, Mumbai (1998); 'IDEA AND IMAGES' by NGMA, Mumbai (2004), and 43rd 'National Exhibition' Organized by Lalit Kala Academy, at Bangalore (2001).
